Dollars Lake is part of Northern Ontario's famous Pickerel River system which runs northwest through the Georgian Bay Forest Reserve. Dollars Lake is also part of the Pickerel and Wolf River canoe route.

This country is a maze of rivers and lakes which abound with pickerel, pike, walleye, bass, whitefish, crappie and pan fish. From the Dollars Lake dam to Port Loring, anglers have 43 miles of navigable water bordered by rugged shoreline that is mostly crown land. Popular angling spots are Stumpy, Noggard and Pontford Bays and the Wolf River.
